The Wisconsin Center for Academically Talented Youth is the only organization working with the state's brightest students on a year-round, statewide basis. Founded in 1991, WCATY provides a unique set of services to children from elementary through high school. WCATY's mission is to nurture Wisconsin's most academically talented students by providing and encouraging programs that support, motivate, and challenge them. We believe in their importance individually. We believe in their importance as a group, as potential leaders in our communities and professions.
The WCATY Vision is focused on the following key points:
1. Commitment to providing year-round programs for academically talented youth from the elementary grades through high school.
2. Identifying and serving a broad and diverse pool of students in communities the mid-west.
3. Cooperative relationships with every important group of stakeholders, including UW System universities.
4. Fiscal stability, including cost-effective programs.
